How CCTV-17's "Dialogue with National Brands" Documented Miracle Medicine

Why China CCTV Chose Miracle Medicine

This is how a CCTV.com report describes the state of the industry: porcupine bezoar "faces the difficulty of genuine and counterfeit goods mixed together, and of uneven quality".

The crew from "Dialogue with National Brands", a programme on the Agriculture and Rural Channel of China Media Group (CCTV-17), did not fly over first and decide what to film afterwards. The documents were reviewed before the project was approved, and only then did the crew travel: more than four thousand kilometres from Beijing to Malaysia, under a separately approved internal project. According to the programme, selection was assessed on four dimensions — compliance review, industry representativeness, traceability system, and respect for quality.

On traceability, the crew covered the ground in person: from the hills of Indonesia all the way to a laboratory at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, passing the capture and veterinary teams, the extraction theatre, the post-operative recovery facility, and our stores in Malaysia.

Every link on that chain belongs to Miracle Medicine, so the crew could walk straight in. Nothing had to be arranged through a third party.

A good part of the episode is set in Indonesia. A captured porcupine is scanned first, to confirm that a bezoar is actually present, before a veterinarian carries out the extraction; afterwards the animal spends two to four weeks recovering at our facility and is released back into the wild once healed. We chose to build our own theatre and recovery facility because we believe that even taking a material can be done with more care. Joint research by Miracle Medicine and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University on porcupine bezoar, in the direction of immune modulation, was published in April 2026 in the international journal Pharmaceuticals (MDPI), DOI: 10.3390/ph19040563. It all began with the love of a father...
